    851 Community Legal Clinics

If you cannot afford a lawyer, and if you are not eligible for Legal Aid or if you do not want to use Legal Aid, you can go to a Community Legal Clinic for legal assistance. There are approximately 70 Community Legal Clinics across Ontario. The address of the nearest clinic is listed in the Blue pages of your telephone book.

  • What kind of legal assistance does a Community Legal Clinic offer?
Community Legal Clinics are run by lawyers and non-lawyer community legal workers who can help you with various legal issues. A Community Legal Clinic can help you with issues involving: employment insurance, welfare, workplace safety & insurance, young offenders, immigration, debtor-creditor issues, and landlord and tenant matters.

You will have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible to receive legal assistance from a Community Legal Clinic. When you go to a clinic you should bring your financial information and the documents that relate to your circumstances. The clinic will do a financial assessment of your situation to determine your eligibility.
