Ontario|Services for LawyersOrganizations / Associations 952 BAR-eX BAR-eX is an internet service designed for use by the Ontario legal community. Its goal is to provide an on-line forum that provides lawyers with the tools, information and services they need to make their job easier.
BAR-eX is a service of BAR-eX Communications Inc., and is supported by the joint efforts of Teranet Enterprise Inc., the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company.
BAR-eX membership is currently open to all Ontario lawyers and their support staff, including law clerks, legal secretaries, researchers and librarians. Every Bar-eX account must include at least one member who belongs to the Law Society of Upper Canada.
BAR-eX offers a wide variety of features and services to its members. These include:
6. BARflyer Search, a legal search engine,
7. the Current Awareness service to keep members up-to-date on recent legal issues and developments in their area of practice,
8. BAR-eXpress, offering free web mail and secure document delivery,
9. BAR-eX Writs, which allows members to search for writs of execution anywhere in Ontario and receive instant, on-line results and certificates,
10. The Career Centre which provides information on job hunting and legal job openings, and
11. BAR-eX Discussion Forums which enable members to exchange ideas and seek opinions from other BAR-eX members.
