The Law Clerk program at the Business School at Seneca College, is a two-year (4 semester) Ontario College Diploma program.  Graduates are prepared for career opportunities in a wide variety of legal environments, including law firms, government offices, corporations, insurance and financial institutions, and other businesses.

Courses include:

  • Real Estate Law
  • Corporate and Commercial Law
  • Civil Litigation
  • Family Law
  • Wills and Estates Law

Admission requirements

Minimum admission requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR a mature applicant
  • English: Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent course

Not required for admission, but recommended: completion of Grade 12 mathematics and Grade 11 Canadian history

Program delivery

The program includes:

  • workshops
  • law firm tours
  • court visits
  • field placement
  • career preparation events

 

Accelerated Law Clerk Program and Other Law Programs

Seneca also offers the Law Clerk (Accelerated) program in which students who have a previous postsecondary degree or diploma will finish the program in nine months instead of four semesters.

Other law related programs offered at the College are the two-year Justice Administrations Services Diploma program and the one-year Office Administration – Legal Diploma program.
