Is it legal to give home grown cannabis to someone else?

Region: Ontario Answer # 2464

Yes. While it is legal to grow cannabis at home Under Canada’s Cannabis Act, it can only be for personal use. However, it is legal to share up-to 30 grams of a home cultivation with other adults of legal age.

Keep in mind that adults who are 18 years or older (depending on the province) can legally grow up-to 4 plants (per residence). In Manitoba and Quebec home growing is only permitted with a medical licence. In addition, only licensed cannabis producers can legally sell cannabis.
