Answer # 2184
Does the Parole Board of Canada grant urgency status?
Region: Ontario Answer # 2184Not anymore. In the past it was possible for the Parole Board (PBC) to process some applications in priority to others if there was evidence of a significant opportunity that would be lost if the Pardon were delayed (such as unique job opportunities, deportation from Canada, etc.).
Now, the PBC processes the files in the order that they are received. Keep in mind, however, that this does not mean that the first application received is going to be the first Record Suspension completed. Those files requiring more extensive investigations, or for which court responses are delayed, may end up taking longer to process than other files which were submitted later.
