Answer # 3012
How many times can a process server come to your house?
Region: Ontario Answer # 3012There is no limit to the number of times a process server can visit you or come to your house to serve you documents.
Each process server has their own rules as to how many times they will attempt to serve documents. In most cases, three attempts will be made, and at different times of the day and on different days. If the process server fails to serve the documents after all attempts are made, the applicant can go to the court and ask permission to deliver the documents by a substitute or alternative service method.
Can a process server come to your house on any day of the week?
Yes, a process server can legally serve documents on any day of the week, even holidays. However, each process server may set its own rules regarding serving on holidays, as well as how late in the day they will attempt to deliver documents.
