What is a USA Entry Waiver?
Region: Ontario Answer # 1131A USA Entry Waiver is an official American document that allows people otherwise inadmissible, such as those with Canadian criminal records, to enter the United States legally. The application is sometimes referred to as an I-192 because that is the number of one of the forms used in the application. Once the Waiver is granted, it is actually called an I-194. The I-194 together with the cover letter must be presented to Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers every time the person wishes to enter the USA. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – through the Admissibility Review Office (ARO)- will review all Waiver applications. The ARO will first decide whether the crime was a crime against moral turpitude. They will then decide if a Waiver should be granted and, if so, how long it will be valid.
