In honour of Black History Month, an exciting evening with acclaimed author and human rights activist, Lawrence Hill was hosted as a joint celebration by The Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL.ca).
Legal Line Founders, Antree Demakos and Ian Levine, together with Y. Younger, Manager, Outreach Education Services, enjoyed an action-packed night. Mr. Hill, author of the bestseller, The Book of Negroes, engaged in heartfelt discussions about many key issues facing the world today. Mr. Hill spoke eloquently, and piqued the interest of the audience when he read from his newest book, The Illegal.
On this auspicious occasion, Mr. Younger, a devoted fan of Mr. Hill’s, was proud to be wearing the retirement ring of World Champion Boxer, Muhammad Ali. The ring was a gift to Mr. Levine from the private collection of his dear friend, Kalilah Ali (Muhammad Ali’s wife) as a symbol of strength, and in support of Legal Line’s ‘fight’ for Access to Justice.
