Region: Ontario Answer # 2808To apply for a paralegal licence with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), all applicants must have graduated from a Law Society accredited Paralegal Education Program, which must be from a college approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
What is the Cestar College Paralegal Diploma Program?
Graduates of the LSO accredited 2-year Accelerated Paralegal Diploma Program at Cestar College of Business, Health & Technology will have acquired the skills to assist people in a number of legal areas. Courses cover a variety of areas of law, including:
- Small Claims
- Statutory Accident Benefits
- Motor Vehicle
- Employment Law
- Environmental
- Summary Criminal offences
Admission requirements
- IELTS : 6
- Academic background: High School Diploma
Course delivery
The Diploma Program Is two years in length and includes 600 hours over 2 semesters of classroom learning as well as:
- 40 hours practice management
- 40 hours job field placements
- 120 hours internship
Graduates of the program will be entitled to apply to the LSO to write their Paralegal licensing examination.
