Region: Ontario Answer # 2824To apply for a paralegal licence with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), all applicants must have graduated from a Law Society accredited Paralegal Education Program, which must be from a college approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
What is the triOS College Paralegal Diploma Program?
Graduates of the triOS College LSO accredited 52-week Paralegal Diploma Program will qualify to write the Law Society licensing examination and become a licensed paralegal in the province, allowing them to work as an independent provider of legal services, or in law offices or legal departments throughout the public and private sectors.
Courses include:
- Residential Landlord and Tenancy
- Legal writing and research
- Torts and contracts
- Small Claims Court procedure
- Tribunal practice and procedure
Admission requirements
- Canadian High School Graduation Diploma OR Mature Student Status:
- Mature students from Ontario must be at least 18 years of age by the program start date and successfully pass an academic achievement test.
- Mature students from other Canadian provinces must be at least 19 years of age and a minimum of 1 year out of high school by the program start date and successfully pass an academic achievement test
- Two (2) reference letters attesting to applicant’s moral character, integrity, and trustworthiness
- Passing score on the Entrance Assessment
