Do you need a licence to grow cannabis for personal use?
Region: Ontario Answer # 2463No. You do not need a licence to grow cannabis for personal use.
You also do not need a licence if:
- You produce cannabis products under the Cannabis Act for your own medical purposes; or you are a designated person authorized to produce cannabis products for the medical purposes of another person; or
- You are an industrial hemp grower who produces industrial hemp by-products.
Who needs a licence?
Licenses from Health Canada and Canada Revenue Agency are required if you:
- cultivate (grow) cannabis for sale
- make or producing cannabis products
- sell cannabis for medical purposes
- conduct testing of cannabis
- conduct research with cannabis
- package cannabis products
